Location London Road Campus, Room L22 G03
Event Information
Pollinating London Together is excited to launch its new educational materials on Outdoor Classroom Day at the 51ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø, inspiring students, and educators to explore the vital role of pollinators in our environment. The day will showcase ideas on how to set up Outdoor Classroom and developing innovative approaches to T&L.
Designed to support learning, these resources provide hands-on activities that connect science, conservation, art, and music. This launch marks a significant step in promoting environmental awareness and fostering a deeper appreciation for the natural world, empowering future generations to take action in protecting pollinators and biodiversity through education.
If you are a fellow educator or teacher concerned with sustainability and climate education, we invite you to attend this half-day event which we hope will support and inspire you with your own outdoor education plans and teaching. You are also welcome to attend if you are interested in the work of the IoE and Pollinating London Together, or climate education more generally, and want to find out more about free educational resources that can be used to teach children (predominantly, key stage 2, 3 and 4 children) about the importance of pollinators!
The event will feature a series of activities including:
1) The official launch and showcase of Pollinating London Together's new educational resources - including modelling of materials via practical teaching sessions
2) Tour of the Institute of Education’s in-development, outdoor learning space and ideas sharing for setting up your own outdoor classroom
3) Keynote presentation from Dr Heather Barrett-Mold OBE
4) Exhibition of innovative teaching and learning activities relating to climate and sustainability education
